Although the eastern coast of Phuket
itself is generally unattractive, some of the islands off it are quite attractive and
provide both sheltered anchorages and interesting stop-overs.

 Koh Rang - Sail Thailand -Page 59
This island group is an ideal stop-off prior to entering the Boat Lagoon.
Two anchorages provide shelter, the choice of use depends on the prevailing monsoon. Good
holding is found in moderate depth.
 Koh Hi - Sail Thailand

Good shelter is provided by the northern anchorage in the southwest
monsoon. Good holding is in moderate depths off the beach.

The choice of which anchorage to use depends on the prevailing monsoon.
